Jennifer Watt

Jennifer Watt was born in Dumfries and graduated at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. She lived and worked in Lincolnshire for 27 years before returning to her home near Thornhill in 2000.
A great deal of Jennifer’s work has been inspired by the long shadows of the South of France and the natural organic forms found in the surrounding landscape. Jennifer aims to create work which achieves an emotional response. She is moved by simple forms, clean and void of any unnecessary components, sculpture since to its form, material and surface. the process of creating has always been a must for Jennifer, the materials she uses vary according to the task in hand. She works mostly in stone, cement, clay and wood the clay and cement being cast in either bronze or resin, both in limited editions.
