Daniel Johnson Gray is a photographer and filmmaker based in Yorkshire. He aims to capture the atmosphere of a place or a moment, blending concepts of street and landscape photography from a point-of-view perspective, through which he evokes a sense of intimacy; as if the photos are the incomplete glimpses of a memory. He explores spaces in unusual ways, choosing to focus on the intangible “feeling” of a place rather than capturing a particular subject or scene, seeking to bring an ethereality to the work that may trigger a sense of nostalgia in the audience regardless of their familiarity with the location in which the photo was taken.
