Lee has been producing hand-built Ceramics for over 30 years from his studio in Manchester, teaching for ten of them. Originally from South Yorkshire, Lee studied three-dimensional design, Ceramics at Sunderland University.

Heavy textures, multi layered surface decoration incorporating bird silhouettes accentuated with colour underglaze are his trademark approach to his work. Lee uses hand embossed card, wallpaper and vintage decals with precious metal lustres, which enables him to produce bright and colourful finished pieces. Each piece is fired three times and are fully functional with glazed interiors.

Lee has collaborated with U.S. based design company Anthropologie. He was commissioned to design and manufacture a bespoke installation for Manchester Airport. Lee takes inspiration from Indian and Japanese Art and Ceramics
