Sunlight, lowlights, diffused light, street lights, highlights, reflected light, candle light, moonlight. Oh, and flare and glare. I am obsessed with capturing light, any kind of light. Chinks of light cutting through the darkness send me into a frenzy. And the thing about painting light is that you can’t see it unless you paint the dark. Contrasty images are what drives me to paint, whether its landscapes, figurative or still life.
