“I’m based in Hebden Bridge and take inspiration from the surrounding hills, the patchworks fields and at times, the stormy weather to paint watercolour landscapes.
I mainly use watercolours on heavy, 100% cotton paper and enjoy playing with form and the illusion of detail, evoking a sense of mystery and drama. I seek atmosphere and scale; transitioning from smooth gradients to sharp lines and using thick layers of paint.
Thick evening air, fast-moving skies and moody dusk lighting all hold a fond place in my heart!”
