Lisa studied at Bradford & Ilkley Community College and graduated in 1995 with a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art & Experimental Textiles.
Since this time she has exhibited and sold her work in many galleries and art fairs throughout the UK.
Based in County Durham she produces beautiful, original and printed art work from her garden studio.
Lisa’s work is a vibrant combination of hue, texture and form.
Painting with instinct, emotion and skill, she has a subtle understanding of colour and its deep impact on the viewers conscious and subconscious.
Her inspiration comes from her love of colour, texture and creating atmosphere.
The landscape is a constant focal point through her work and she uses natural found materials from the location and encases them into the painting surface. Her aim is to create an authentic representation of what she loves most about the landscape.
Her still life paintings take on a more quirky appearance. Using contrasting colours, vintage fabrics and old clothing she creates a range filled with character and charm.
Her technique involves working on up to thirty paintings at one time in the studio, layering wooden boards with oil paint washes, wax, fabrics and organic materials, allowing the paintings to slowly evolve.
This process has developed over several years and the painting surface and atmosphere she creates has become a recognisable quality through her work.
You can commission a painting in your preferred size and colour range to compliment your interior. On request Lisa will also incorporate the customer’s own found organic materials and fabrics to personalise the painting to them.
